We named the solution LIVE COMMUNICATION SERVER, a real-time ERP platform that prioritizes seamless communication across departments. Our team faced several challenges in building this system. Designing a real-time messaging engine required robust backend support and message consistency, which we achieved using Django Channels, WebSockets, and Redis. For document collaboration, we implemented version control to prevent data loss and ensure that users always accessed the most up-to-date files. Integrating external email services securely while keeping performance stable was another challenge. We resolved it using token-based authentication and asynchronous email syncing powered by Celery and Django Q. Moreover, the self-service portals were developed with a responsive, role-based interface built using Django, giving employees and managers real-time access to tasks, requests, and internal documents.
One of the standout features of the platform is the analytics dashboard, which provides GDL's management team with real-time insights into communications, team performance, and workflow bottlenecks — helping them make quick, data-driven decisions.
